Introduction to Thursday Labs

Thursday Labs creates founder-driven content for (mostly) B2B companies. Think of us as the first “Hollywood-studio” for the startup scene.

What we do for them:

  1. Produce a weekly video podcast
  2. Chunk each episode into video clips for social media
  3. Write and publish all their social media posts
  4. Publish a summary blog post of the entire episode and send a weekly newsletter

All in all, we are providing our clients with a 20-episode season supported by ~60 short-form clips and social posts, and ~20 blog posts and newsletters. It’s a robust offering made for today’s age of company storytelling. If that seems compelling, keep reading to see where you can fit in.

Here’s our one-pager that’ll give you a ton of details →

The Role

We believe that the quality of conversation is what separates legendary podcasts from the rest. The most important thing we can do for our clients is to help them book the most incredible guests for their shows. So far, we’ve booked hundreds of top-tier founders, VCs with $1B+ funds, celebrities, and even a famous astronaut.

Because of that, we are looking for our first-ever Head of Network to find, cultivate and book the most relevant and influential guests for our clients’ podcasts. Some of the things you’ll do:

Your previous experience was primarily a networking role. If asked, your peers would say that “you know everyone” in your respective field. Platform, investor relations, sales, partnerships, PR and community all fit this bill for us. We are NOT hiring you for your existing network (though that’s certainly a plus) but instead, your ability to build new ones, quickly and deeply. You are bold in how you do this.

Real Talk

What we find amazing about this role is that you’re getting paid to yap. You’re networking with the most spectacular people in the world. You’re reaching out on behalf of the company but the relationship is more or less yours. If anything goes wrong in booking them or their experience on a show, that’s on Thursday Labs. If anything goes right and the guest feels famous - that’s thanks to you.

But, this is a hard job. All of our podcasts are new. Our clients may not be brand names. You are the one that has to convince potential guests that being on their podcast is worth their time. We need quick learners who understand the startup world. We ask you to context switch and secure guests in any field that’s thrown at you. We don’t let our clients down. Even if a prospect "didn't reply to your DM" or "their EA said maybe" — figure it out. That is a tall order.

Ideally, this role should feel like play. If you need to hit a run club to meet a VC who we want on one of our shows, hit it. If you need to throw a dinner to strengthen the database of PR people who can bring us their clients, do it! We'll pay for it.

Our team lives across the world. We don't mind how or where or when you do your job - you just need to book epic guests!

This role will likely start part-time for the first 60-90ish days as we get ramped up, and ideally will merge into full-time with an annual salary of $90k-120k, depending on the quality and quantity of guests you’re able to book.

By applying, you’re telling us that you consider yourself a top 1% networker.

If all that sounds cool — keep going. If not, no hard feelings.

What to do next:

  1. Have a 30-minute chat with Jake or Safi. Network your way onto our calendars ;)
  2. Complete a 2-part paid test ($250) within a five-day timeline.
    1. Part 1: Build a list of potential guests for one of our clients.
    2. Part 2: Book one of the guests. Yes, you’re actually going to book a guest.

Thanks again for your interest! Means a lot you are here.
